55+ Communities Increasingly Popular In Denver Area

As the Denver metro area continues too see it’s population increase (~2,000 people moving here each week), the demand for 55+ communities in Denver and the surrounding cities continues to surge. Unfortunately, we are still seeing construction of these neighborhoods lag behind demand.

The chart below illustrates the number of homes sold each year in these age restricted communities across the Denver area:

As you can see, the number of sold homes for these communities continues to rise. Conversely, the following chart shows the declining inventory we have been facing:

Again, these charts show data for the entire Denver Metro area. The demand in certain cities is far greater. Areas such as Littleton and Highlands Ranch have seen a huge demand surge for these 55+ neighborhoods while some of the areas further from the central metro areas have not.
